Mr. Waheedullah Ahmadzai was born in Logar, Afghanistan. He began his professional career as a Networking Officer with the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Afghanistan, where he worked for one year. Afterward, he held various leadership and management positions at the US Embassy for a duration of five years.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science
  • Master’s degree in International Relationships from the University of Peshawar
  • College degree in Business Administration from the Muslim College of Commerce and Management

Professional Experience

After arriving in the United States in 2021, Mr. Ahmadzai joined the USCRI Des Moines Field Office as a Case Manager. He assists new Afghan refugees by scheduling appointments and helping them with essential documentation and paperwork. Additionally, he serves as a Culture Advisor for the Des Moines Public Schools, where he shares his expertise and cultural insights with the community.

Volunteer Work and Hobbies

Mr. Ahmadzai is actively involved in volunteer work, particularly in supporting new Afghan refugees. He dedicates his time to help them navigate the resettlement process and adjust to their new lives. In his free time, he enjoys playing cricket for the Afghan Blue Tigers, swimming, playing soccer, and he holds a black belt in Taekwondo.

As the Internal Affairs Director of the Afghan Community in Iowa, Mr. Waheedullah Ahmadzai plays a vital role in addressing internal matters and ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization. His diverse background, education, and experience make him a valuable asset to the Afghan community in Iowa.
